Metal Monday – Staind – Its been a While

Well hello there my fellow bloggers and those that don’t know about this blog just yet. It is I, bringing you a song to get through your Monday. As this album name suggests, I am breaking the cycle of silence for a bit again.

Staind came out with this album in 2001. I only heard it for the first time around 2003-ish. Its stuck with me since then. The reason for the song it’s been a while is cuase this song resonates and relates to me a lot. Sometimes, for all the good you try to do, you end up fucking up something that was working realy well. I am sorry, swearing might occur on my blog from time to time. Parental warning must be advised.

Anyhow I hope you can enjoy it as much as I do when I listen to it. I have written a poem with the same song title that this song inspired a few years ago that I will be sharing on Wednesday. Hope you will like that too…

Its been a while

And it’s been awhile since I could hold my head up high
And it’s been awhile since I first saw you
And it’s been awhile since I could stand on my own two feet again
And it’s been awhile since I could call you

And everything I can’t remember
As fucked up as it all may seem
The consequences that I’ve rendered
I’ve stretched myself beyond my means

It’s been awhile since I can say that I wasn’t addicted
And it’s been awhile since I can say I love myself as well
And it’s been awhile since I’ve gone and fucked things up just like I always do
And it’s been a while, but all that shit seems to disappear when I’m with you

And everything I can’t remember
As fucked up as it all may seem
The consequences that I’ve rendered
I’ve gone and fucked things up again, again

Why must I feel this way?
Just make this go away
Just one more peaceful day

Happy Metal Monday ya’ll🤘🏻
