This was a ARC I received via Net Galley, it did not affect my rating of this review. I would like to extend a warm thank you to them for accepting my request.
I think most part of my enjoyment when reading through these Manga collections is the way it just oozes positivity. It does not matter what challenges Akari has to face, she just some how seems to bash through it all with big wide smile on her face. This volume, as with the the two that have come before it have made some lasting impressions on me and I will continue to pursue them if Net Galley continues to put them up for request. The art (see examples above) is beautiful just as the ones before this volume. We get to see even more of New-Venezia while learning of the history of Venice as we know it today. These kind of interactions keeps me engaged and invested.
Aria is easy reading and it has also helped me cope with a very heavy two weeks of work. Yesterday being the day I literally burst into tears in front of two colleagues due to some built up frustrations and ongoing friction between certain people. Anyhow, with the tears finally coming to the fore, people now know exactly what I feel and understand the huge responsibility they unknowingly have been sending my way in the last couple of months. I do feel a lot better today, even more so as I finally finished another book for the month. Yes it has pictures in it, but who cares?
Taking all of this into account, I have given Aria a 4 out 5 on GR. If you are a Manga fan, if you happen to know that there was a TV series also based of of these ( I am not that tuned into the Anime/ Manga scene as I was many years ago), then this is most definitely for you. The states that there are full colour spreads in this volume, but I feel it needs to be said that it is only the spreads at some of the beginning of the new chapters. Bit of false advertising there, or is it the fact that this is on NG and not the final product yet? You decide…
Hope you have a great day!
