I received a copy of this novel through the author. It has not influenced my review in any way. I would like to thank Morgan for the opportunity to read and review.

There is a thing I find either very coincidental or just pure chance, but the fact that our author’s last name is Tanner, how cool is it that he decided to write a book regarding skin? This is just how my mind goes into books at times. I constantly try look for connections, you can say I am some sort of  bad conspiracy theorist…

When I read the post where Morgan advertised his book for free over the Easter period I could not hold back and went to check it out. The release was only set for U.K and U.S.A though, so after politely asking Morgan if it was possible for E.U. He was kind enough to send me a link on private email. I was a happy camper from there on out…

Army of Skin is a book written in the first person perspective. It deals with a person going  through the many stages of loss and grief. At the same time on the planning of revenge as well as being, or at least going insane. As the amazing cover of this novel  suggests, this might not be a book for the queasy. There are a lot of graphic scenes of various sorts of mutilation, nothing over the top, but it starts even as early as the first page. I was not too put of by this as I believe myself made of stauncher stuff…

There were also some parts with very dark humor. Trevor is a person who seems to speak to himself and voices his thoughts throughout the novel. This was always a fun part to read. Trevor is also all kinds of messed up and at times had me wondering if it was due to the medication he was on or just pure imagination. Morgan did a great job of fleshing (pun intended) him out. His reason for revenge was relate-able to me personally as I had a similar experience with doctors and my dad’s brief struggle with cancer. I am no Trevor though, so those doctors are still alive today…

Army of Skin got a 4 out of 5 stars from me on GR. I do not know who I can recommend this to apart from those interested n seeing if they can have the same outer body experiences as I had while going through this. One thing I would’ve liked to read more of was this mysterious book, it sounded along the line of the Necronomicon as well as reminding me of a Stephan King ( I also wondered if this was the reason behind giving Trevor that last name..) book I read earlier this year. Personally I would say, job well done mate, I wish you all the best and much success in your future endeavors.

See you all at the next review!

      1. Sorry, I was using innocent in terms of being related to death of his mother (ie, they had nothing to do with anything concerning his mother), not that they were innocent of everything 🙂

Do you think you’ll read more by the author if he sends it your way?
