Metal Monday- Deftones- Change (In The House Of Flies)

Welcome to Metal Monday, today I picked a song that fits to my previous review:The Flight of The Eisenstein. Not so much evil as the the followers of Nurgle might be, the song was not picked to shock my audience ( do I even have one?), but I was more in the mind of the things Garro was going through at the time. Seeing his Legion change into something else, experiencing the Lord of Decay’s minions first hand, even going up against one of his closest allies who actively dubbed himself Lord of the Flies.

I am a big fan of Deftones, they are a weirdly beautiful and somewhat seductive band, very much like the Chaos gods in Warhammer all promising certain gifts for a many an innocent soul…. I love this song on any occasion. Lyrics are pretty clear and the song itself is way more toned down than some of the harder hitting songs I feature on here some times.

I hope you enjoy!

Lyrics:

I watched you change
Into a fly
I looked away
You’re on fire
I watched a change in you
It’s like you never had wings
And you feel so alive
I have watched you change

I took you home
Set you on the glass
I pulled off your wings
Then I laughed
I watched a change in you
It’s like you never had wings
Now you feel so alive
I have watched you change
It’s like you never had wings
Anh, ahah x 5

I look at the cross
And I look away
Give you the gun
Blow me away
I watched a change in you
It’s like you never had wings
Now you feel so alive
I have watched you change
And you feel alive
You feel alive
You feel alive

I have watched you change
It’s like you never had wings
Anh, ahah x 5
You change x 3
