Metal Monday – Enya – May It Be

Welcome to Metal Monday. I share May it Be because it fits my May themed Metal prompt for the month… Today’s song is so metal I do not know how to even start at introducing it. For those that ever saw that Lord of the Rings movies will notice that this one was played at the end credits of Fellowship of the Ring. It honestly can not get any more Metal than that. I mean people died by the hands of stinking Orcs. Samwise almost drowned, the feels that movie gave off was so unreal…

Enya is an artist I have been listening too for a long time. I have to admit that even though my music tastes has evolved into some other kind of monster, I can still appreciate where it sprouted from. I fell in love with Orinoco Flow and still consider it one of my all time favorite Enya songs.

Hope you enjoy.

Lyrics:

May it be an evening star
Shines down upon you
May it be when darkness falls
Your heart will be true
You walk a lonely road
Oh! How far you are from home

Mornie utulie (darkness has come)
Believe and you will find your way
Mornie alantie (darkness has fallen)
A promise lives within you now

May it be the shadow’s call
Will fly away
May it be your journey on
To light the day
When the night is overcome
You may rise to find the sun

Mornie utulie (darkness has come)
Believe and you will find your way
Mornie alantie (darkness has fallen)
A promise lives within you now

A promise lives within you now

  1. Hahahahaha, “SO” metal ๐Ÿ˜‰

I was introduced to Enya in the early 90’s and have been a faithful fan ever since. Of course, with her output being one album every 5+ years, I’m not exactly pressed for time ๐Ÿ˜€ Do you still listen to her stuff or has that phase passed for you.

  2. Great song, I revisit it often ๐Ÿ™‚ Although I thought that the link between Tolkien and metal is called Christopher Lee, not Enya ๐Ÿ˜‰
