Metal Monday – Fire Lake – Live to Forget

One of the best things for me to come from a historic disaster was the setting the P.C game Stalker was set in. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a first-person-shooter games series with RPG and action-adventure elements, developed by GSC Game World, Ukraine. Game events take place in the alternative world’s Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, Ukraine, present day. According to the games, an unexpected anomaly affected the Exclusion Zone in 2006. As a result, the physical, chemical, and biological processes in this territory changed. Numerous anomalies, artefacts, and mutants appeared. The influence of the Roadside Picnic novel by Arkady and Boris Strugatsky and the Stalker film, by Andrei Tarkovsky, on which it is based, is noticeable. “STALKER” is an ackronym for Scavengers, Trespassers, Adventurers, Loners, Killers, Explorers and Robbers. A game I spent HOURS exploring, a game that was in line with the Fallout franchise but superior in a lot of ways. It might have been buggy and not as polished as the Fallout games, but it had heart and fucktonnes of it.

Firelake is the band that did a songs for all three S.T.A.L.K.E.R games. They are from the Ukraine, Kiyv and they rock. They might not be as mainstream as other more popular bands, but boy did they mean to the world to me at a certain point in my life. Memories of me and my older brother basting the shit out of one another over weekends with our p.s’s linked. Advancing my love for post nuclear settings M.E.T.R.O, Fallout, Book of Eli the movie, Stalker will always be part of me and we might even be closer to the setting than we know…

I would like to say enjoy this song, but also take a moment and just think about where this life is heading. Would you be able to stand your ground? Would you be able to kill in order to survive? Would you, yes you, survive The Zone???

Lyrics:

Sadly I have no lyrics for this vid. The guys sing in their native tongue so just enjoy the soothing moods of Live to Forget.
