What even is Wordaholicanonymous?

Today marks a small milestone for my blog. In April of this year it will be turning six years old. I have been chipping away at giving people my thoughts on things, mainly metal and book related for 6 years, but this post is not about that. This post is to boast about the fact that I, since the first post went up in April 16 2017, have written 800 posts in total. That might seem small compared to the people that have been doing this for longer than I have and that post almost every day, but for meyself I find it pretty special.

How did this all happen? Why Wordaholic and not some other Warhammer themed name for this blog? Why only come up with this post now? Well to tell you an honest truth, I never thought about it before. I got into blogging with the idea that I would be documenting my journey through the world that was Warhammer as well as the 40K part of it only when I started out. This was done when my girlfriend, now wife, had a comment on one of her posts asking about something in that setting. That was the spark that ignited my drive to enlighten the world to one of my favorite settings in the literary world. Seeing as my wife already had been doing so a while and called herself Simply a book Drunkard, I thought I would keep up with that line of thought and so Wordaholicanonymous started out. Too my surprize the WH community on WP has was already quite established and quickly learned that I was not as knowledgable on things as I thought, but that did not put me off, instead of sounding like a know it all, I decided to read and review in the mindset of a person new to the franchise. My reviews aren’t always as clear and well thought out as I would like them to be, but I have had fun in trying to get better at it. After yesterday’s post went up I started having confidence in myself again.

Since starting my reviews it did not only stay focused on WH, but has evolved into something else. I do not know what my tastes are exactly, but the journey this far has been pretty damn cool. I have had great interactions with people, I have had a few unplanned run ins with people that seem to like conflict, but I tend to just ignore that and it goes away by it self, saves a lot of time too. I’ve had interactions with some author’s I would have never thought I would ever be able to handel and even if I mucked it up, I’ve still actually talked to some of them! I have a lot to be thankful for. My wife for a start for being there from day one, the followers and commentors on my post and the general interest some of you have shown in this hobby of mine. Thank you all.

Where will the next 800 posts see Wordaholicsanonymous? I do not know, what I do know is that I will keep at it for as long as I can. Through the shitty WP changes, through the stuff life throws at us, through everything. I hope some of you will still be around to see where it all goes from here. Hel, I hope I will still be around to type them up…
